Church News - Church of Universal Truth

NOTICE:

To help facilitate better understanding and communication of our message, the Board of Trustees has elected to form the Church of Universal Truth.

Although UBU Ministries is organized as a church, the name has caused some confusion with the public.

UBU Ministries will continue to be an official arm of the church and at present no formal distinction will be made between the two.

Henceforth UBU Ministries will operate under the direction, subscribe to the rules, beliefs, practices and conventions of Church of Universal Truth and the two will eventually operate as distinct functional divisions of the same body and  Parent Organization, Church of Universal Truth.

Membership, general meetings and most services are transferred to the new Parent organization.

Further functional distinctions are planned by the Board to further define specific services offered by the Church and the Ministry..

Such distinctions of function will be published in the official Church Operational Guide, announced at the regular Conference of the Church and otherwise noted when appropriate by verbal and written communications.

The UBU Articles of Association will be amended to reflect the new functional association.

At present, all officers and trustees remain the same and assume identical responsibilities and functions for both bodies.

All policies, articles of belief, contact, contracts and service information of the Church, UBU-Ministries will represent the same for the Church of Universal Truth and will be under the direction of the new body.

Further redefinitions of mission and responsibility will be reflected in official statements and organs of the Church.

It is the hope of the Board that this change will enhance our ability to serve our membership and the general public as we teach the practical application of the Golden Rule and understanding of the Law of Reciprocity, while clarifying the teachings and traditions of Jesus and other teachers from world religions and philosophies.

Water which is too pure has no fish.

People used to jokingly say "The Devil made me do it!". Though the saying has lost it's popularity the concept behind it lives on in most of American culture. In almost every church on every Sunday you hear someone preach about how weak humans are tempted by Satan and how they can avoid the consequences of going to Hell by giving their "sins" to Jesus. I suspect, the Sin and Repentance cycle is the main reason churches are still financially profitable. Sin is unavoidable. The main message of religion seems to be to avoid  all  experience. This is impossible, unless one is willing to still alone in a cave. Blaming someone else, especially some unseen supernatural being for your mess and then expecting another supernatural being to get you out of the consequences is foolish and spiritually dangerous. The cycle of making mistakes and then correcting or living with them is how people grow spiritually. Spiritually passing the buck is ...

Witches and Spells Rock!

Witches are a very powerful feminine archetype. A force to be dealt with and not a powerless victim. Witches are self actuated beings. Personally, I have found spells to be much more affective than prayer. Which in my opinion are almost the same thing. The difference being that with prayer you are relying on some greater being to grant your wish instead of using the "powers" god created within yourself. More often than not, with prayer, you are counting on god to reverse the results of your behavior, knowing you do not deserve it. It is this spiritual uncertainty that corrupts the spiritual energy you project when you are trying to receive a blessing. When the prayer is unanswered most people tell themselves it just isn't the time to receive the blessing or that it wasn't god's will for them. For instance a smoker who prays to be healed of lung cancer is actually asking for the consequences of their physical action to be reversed by their god for no real re...

The Kingdom Is Within You And It Is Outside You.

From the Gospel of Thomas: Saying 3  Jesus said,  "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is within you and it is outside you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty." There is a second concept I would like to express today.  It comes with a nice picture of Buddha, though I don't know who the actual author is.
